Il nostro B& B si trova a pochi passi dal Duomo, in
via Amalfitania, che potete incrociare passando
dalla Porta Marina. Sono a disposizione due camere
doppie indipendenti con bagno privato dotate di
tutti i comfort: tv, lenzuola, aria condizionata,
asciugamani, phon, ventilatore, piano cottura
attrezzato. La colazione è inclusa nel prezzo e
diamo ai nostri ospiti la possibilità di prepararla
comodamente nella stanza. La struttura si trova in
un palazzo dell’800 recentemente ristrutturato, che
si affaccia sulla “Corte dei Bottari”, importante
esempio architettonico di recupero urbano. Il
cosiddetto “quartiere dei Bottai” comprende la parte
di centro storico che va da Corso Matteotti a via
Ruggero Settimo. Questa denominazione è data dal
fatto che fin dal medioevo nel quartiere
alloggiavano corporazioni di mercanti e artigiani
(falegnami e bottai)La Via Amalfitania, sede dei
mercanti amalfitani, fu la strada-mercato del
quartiere fino al Settecento; qui vi erano anche le
logge dei catalani le quali avevano grandissima
importanza commerciale anche per la vicinanza alla
Marina.

Our B&B is
centrally located, not far from the
Dome, in Amalfitania street, that
you will find going by "Porta
Marina".Two independent double rooms
with private bathroom are available
and they are provided of all
facilities: TV, sheets, towels,
hairdryer, air conditioning,
ventilation, a little kitchen fully
equipped). Breakfast is included in
the price and we let our guests free
to prepare it by themselves whenever
they want.
Our inn is sited in a building of
XVII century recently restored,
which appear to the Corte dei
Bottari ( builders of barrels), an
important example of urban
restoration. The area of Bottari
consists of that side of historical
city centre from Corso Matteotti to
via Ruggero Settimo. This name is
due to the fact that the area was
dwelt by merchants and craftsmen’s
corporations.
Via Amalfitania was dwelt by
merchants from Amalfi and it was the
street-market of the area since the
XVI century; there were also Catalan
galleries, very important thanks to
the fact that they were near the sea! |
